Medicaid Was Cut. Don’t Let States Erase What’s Left.
Stand against further reductions to Medicaid.
With the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB) now enacted, federal Medicaid reductions are moving forward putting millions of older adults and their families at risk of losing the care they rely on. These cuts don’t just trim a budget—they erase lives from the care systems that sustain them. Older adults rely on Medicaid for nursing home care, home-delivered meals, and daily support. Pulling back these services breaks a national promise and leaves families to face it alone. These aren’t just line items in a spreadsheet. They’re real people.
In communities across the country, the consequences are immediate and devastating. Nationwide Medicaid pays for the majority of nursing home care, often more than half of residents, and in many areas, approaching three-quarters.(1) These aren’t outliers, they’re warnings. Slashing Medicaid funding means closing doors on the community resources that keep our most vulnerable citizens safe. When you cut this deeply, you’re not just balancing budgets-you’re tipping families into crisis.
