Growing up, Justin Smith witnessed his grandparents’ experience living in skilled nursing facilities. The caretakers there took great care of his family. Seeing this, and knowing how his own parents may need that same care one day, inspired him to join Direct Supply as an Innovation and Technology Manager.

The challenges facing the industry are bigger than any individual or group. It’s why Direct Supply partners with startups, universities, and senior living communities to envision what’s next in senior healthcare and develop forward-thinking innovations to solve those challenges.

“We bring in thousands of people and hear about the problems they are facing...we like to turn it around and find the right solutions to those problems.”

While Justin and team are focused on creating impactful senior care technology for the industry, we’re also working to make these developments more easily and widely accessible through ongoing dialogue with policymakers. Federal investment support would ensure senior healthcare providers can provide a 21st century standard of care, streamline care delivery to address workforce challenges, and help protect communities, staff, and their residents. Basic necessities, like broadband speed and connectivity, to support the technology advancements are critical to optimizing care, reducing unnecessary hospitalizations, and subsequent infection risk.
